It seems like there’s more news about what Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 won’t have for the Xbox 360 and PS3 than what it will have. The latest news about the seventh generation version of the game is that it won’t have a season pass available to those playing on the PS3 and Xbox 360. -XMOD TEKS

Game Informer and Video Gamer picked up the news from a listing over on the Xbox Store, where it notes that the season pass for Black Ops 3 and the zombie bonus map will not be available on the Xbox 360. 

Video Gamer attempted to reach out to Activision to confirm that the season pass would not be offered for either the Xbox 360 or PS3, but at the time of them publishing the article they didn’t receive a response. 

This news wouldn’t be too surprising given that the campaign mode is also missing from the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Black Ops 3. The campaign centers around a four-player cooperative experience and Treyarch was unable to whittle it down enough to make it doable on the old-gen consoles, so it was axed.

It would make complete sense if the season pass was also cut because it may have something to do with the campaign content. This is one of the first times where the campaign has received almost about as much focus as the competitive multiplayer mode. Instead of it just being a tacked on pew-pew-pew fest, this year’s outing will see players customizing their character, acquiring skills and tactically adapting to a slightly more sandbox-style level layout. 

If Treyarch is planning on releasing campaign content for Black Ops 3 through the season pass, then that would automatically void gamers on the Xbox 360 and PS3. In turn, it would make sense why a season pass wouldn’t even be offered to seventh-gen gamers. Imagine paying $50 but half of the content is unavailable? 

Of course, it’s also safe to assume that the season pass contains plenty of competitive multiplayer and cooperative zombie content as well. The Xbox Store lists that the season pass will contain four DLC map packs in 2016, and that some of the maps included in the map will include re-imagined content from Call of Duty: World at War and Call of Duty: Black Ops, with the continuation of the original zombie story in “Der Riese”. They don’t specifically detail how many maps will be in each pack or if how they’ll be arranged when released, but obviously some of the content is too big for the old-gen systems, such as “The Giant” map within the zombies campaign. 

The general reaction from most gamers for news like this has been “duh”. The Xbox 360 will be a decade old this year and the PS3 will be a decade old next year. It really is time to retire these systems and for companies like Activision to leave them behind for good. When they first launched they were ahead of the tech curve but now we have PCs that are literally powerful enough to emulate PS3 and Xbox 360 games via emulators. That lets you know just how far advanced tech is in today’s society and how old both Sony and Microsoft’s consoles are. 

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is due for release on the Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 6th, along with the season pass, which will presumably only be available for PS4, Xbox One and PC users.

If there’s one reason developer DICE thinks Xbox One will never beat PlayStation 4 is the fact that it’s not as powerful as the latter when it comes to performance. Well, at least that’s the opinion of Alan Kertz of DICE, gameplay designer of “Battlefield 4” and “Star Wars: Battlefront.”

According to Attack of the Fan Boy, Kertz posted a tweet that implied how Xbox will always be behind the PlayStation 4, which drew ire from fans despite others agreeing to the post. At one point, one fan replied saying that Xbox One has the ‘”Halo 5″ series and that should credit something for the said console.

Kertz also implied that the only way the Xbox One can probably increase their sales is when they have racked up enough exclusive games as well as resort to a price drop on their consoles. However, Xbox One fans should not be disheartened as Alan Kertz’ Twitter page is all about his “Personal Tweets, Random Musings and All Thoughts my Own,” which means that his idea of Xbox One not being able to beat PlayStation 4 is his own personal opinion and did not officially came from DICE.

PlayStation 4, being dubbed as the more “technically powered system” will have to see through time whether it’s really the more dominant console between the two.

There have been times when Xbox One demonstrated their lack of game resolution in terms of older titles, but the Xbox One console have literally changed through time and has seen some changes on their game quality using Microsoft’s latest innovations.

According to CinemaBlend, it is really unusual for a game developer to act like what Kertz said when you know one of your games will actually end up in some Xbox One console. Where consoles matter, fans shouldn’t be too affected by the comment if they are enjoying the current console they’re using. What actually matters is that they get what they need from their current platforms.

  Recently, Xbox One launched their backwards compatibility feature in hopes of getting more players to use their gaming consoles as well as lure back former Xbox 360 players to take on the Xbox One.

The move may have increased their sales and revenue, but like what Kertz said, there is still the power of mechanism between Xbox One and PlayStation 4 that remain unanswered.

A price drop may be a crucial move in order to gain more users, but aside from it, other things must also be considered in choosing the best console.

Call Of Duty Black Ops 3’: Beta Feedback Leads To Several Multiplayer Tweaks

While Call of Duty fans were busy fragging each other during the recent closed beta event for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3,” developer Treyarch was busy analyzing what beta players liked and didn’t like about the game’s new take on competitive multiplayer. Now, Treyarch has shared what it will be changing between now and the game’s formal release date.

Treyarch announced its plans to tweak the multiplayer gameplay via a new post on the PlayStation Blog. Players will be happy to hear that both Blackhat equipment and the Rejack ability will be receiving balancing tweaks for the game’s final version. Blackhat equipment, which allows users to hack enemy scorestreaks and gadgets, was found to be a bit too powerful during the beta and, as a result, its ease of use will be taken down a few pegs.

The time it takes to hack a target has been increased, and now players will have to move closer to their target if they want to complete the hack more quickly. Attempting a hack will also make you show up on the mini-map for enemy players, making it easier for them to hunt you down and end your hacking attempt prematurely.

The Rejack ability, which allows the playable specialist Nomad to self-revive himself after being killed, is also having its power toned down a bit. During the beta, killing a player who then revived themselves with Rejack didn’t count as a kill for your team, and Rejack also allowed players to retain their scorestreak bonus, making it really easy to build up a big scorestreak much more quickly than other players. In “Black Ops 3’s” final version, killing a player will still count for your team even if that player revives themselves with Rejack, and using Rejack will immediately reset a player’s scorestreak bonus.

Other beta feedback changes include tweaks for how flinch mechanics and grenade throwing velocity function, along with increased feedback for shooting other players and using special grenade types such as Concussion and Flashbang grenades. All of these changes will be implemented before “Black Ops 3” is released on November 6 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.

Listed below are some of the gameplay changes and improvements when “Call of Duty Black Ops 3” launches on Nov. 6, according to PlayStation Blog.

  • “Players did not feel sufficiently rewarded for escorting the robot in Safeguard. Players now receive +25 scores for every 3 seconds that they escort the robot toward the enemy base.
  • Players wanted additional details about how they were eliminated. The Kill Cam and Final Kill Cam now show what killed you (including weapons, Scorestreaks, Specialist weapons, equipment, etc.) and what perks the player has equipped.
  • During the beta, any downward or backward player movement could make the grenade toss distances feel awkwardly short. This has been adjusted so that player velocity never negatively impacts grenade trajectory. We also tweaked grenade speed and distances.
  • Rejack sparked its fair share of controversy during the Beta for a number of reasons, most of which were valid. Included in that list: putting players into Rejack did not count as a kill, and players were using Rejack to stack Scorestreaks. Now, putting a player into Rejack counts as a kill. Players receive kill credit immediately in-game, on the scoreboard and Leaderboard, and with persistent stats. Rejack now also resets all Scorestreak progress so that it cannot be used continuously throughout a match to pad progress towards high-level Scorestreaks.”

The new Call of Duty title will be released soon and fans of this franchise are no doubt excited to see what Treyarch has to offer them. Ahead of the release the developer has started to build hype so that the launch can be a big one, it’s gradually revealing details not known before and publishing trailers that reveal a new mode for this first-person shooter game.

Treyarch published a video on YouTube which revealed the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 “Free Run” mode, it’s essentially a time trial mode with puzzles of varying difficulties. It takes advantage of the title’s new movement system allowing the player to perform parkour-style moves such as wall runs.

Players will be able to access four time trial courses in this mode and they have to compete against the clock to see how they fare. Each course grows increasingly difficult with each passing level, difficulty starts at beginner and goes all the way up to expert level.

Players have a simple object, they have to finish the course as fast as they possibly can to earn their position on the Free Run leaderboard. Not only does this mode add more fun to this game, it’s also a great way the players can familiarize themselves with the new movement system in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is out for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Windows PC on November 6th.

Halo 5: Guardians To Add Stricter Rules For Multiplayer Offenses

It’s been a long time since I first picked up an Xbox controller and dove headfirst into a game of Halo, and I really do have nothing but fond memories of playing co-op missions or jumping into a multiplayer game with friends on the other side of the country. But there were always some things that really tended to grind my gears—like one of your fellow teammates intentionally betraying you in the middle of a match just to antagonize, or someone quitting the game and forcing a forfeit.

Thankfully, this latest update from 343 Industries outlines exactly what kinds of behaviors they’ll be cracking down on in Arena, their new multiplayer experience in Halo 5: Guardians.

The list includes “quitting matches, betrayals or team killing, idling, intentional suicides [and] excessive disconnects”. Repeatedly engaging in any of the above is enough to earn a ban and be prevented from the matchmaking arena. Additionally, the length of the ban is dependent on the misbehavior, “so continually killing your teammates to steal the Sniper Rifle will quickly lead to long timeouts from match made play,” the team wrote.

There are other updates to the competitive experience of multiplayer too, including a new ranking system called the CSR, or Competitive Skill Rating. Players will have the opportunity to move through a series of placement games in order to be placed into one of seven performance-based ranks—which will be called Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Onyx, and Champion.

Fear not—if you’re unhappy with your ranking, you’ll get the opportunity to try again. The Seasons feature, which will be available starting in December, will allow players to reset their CSR and replay their placement games each month. 343 added that they’ll also be making any changes or modifications based on player feedback after every Season.

Call Of Duty Ghosts DLC ‘Nemesis’ launched for XBOX ONE, XBOX 360

The fourth and final installment in the “Call of Duty: Ghosts” Season Pass has been offered to users of the Xbox gaming platforms on August 5.
“Nemesis” unveils the final four new multiplayer maps along with the epic end of the game’s extinction saga where mankind makes its final stand against Cryptid Invasion.
The following are descriptions of the maps.

GOLDRUSH [USA]: An abandoned gold mine’s intricate network of narrow tunnels and perilous shafts create the ideal setting for medium to close range combat, as teams battle for control of the central elevating platform that is critical for map domination. Two working mine carts race along the abandoned tracks, offering a fast way to traverse the battlefield or provide useful cover from which to take down opponents.

SUBZERO [CANADA]: Subzero is set in a Canadian submarine base that has inexplicably been evacuated, with the control room, submarine pen and research facilities left eerily empty. This medium-sized map is based around a traditional three-lane design and supports all types of play styles from close-quarter to long range combat.
DYNASTY [CHINA]: Dynasty is a Chinese lakeside village surrounded by picturesque mountains, – with vivid gardens, trees in full bloom and spectacular architecture – providing the backdrop for this medium map with a variety of elevation from the depth of the sewers to the height of bridges and windows.
SHOWTIME [CLASSIFIED]: Based on the smallest map ever made in Call of Duty® history, the fan favorite map from Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare®”Shipment”. This map has been re-imagined as a futuristic death arena.
The DLC release date on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3 for this installment will be announced by Activision in the succeeding days.
